About Brynn Bernstein

I’m a fresh out of college game designer who believes in the power of games as a source of joy and connection in a tense and hostile world. From video games, to board and card games, to roleplaying games, to collectible card games, to massively multiplayer experiences like the metaverse, games teach us to understand the social contracts through which we interact with other human beings. I believe that video game design and analog game design are not as separate as we think. Both tap into our innate experience of play. That’s why I study all kinds of games, in hopes of bringing the world play that deepens and enriches our relationships with each other.

I’m already experienced with Unity, as well as the foundations of game design, game mechanics, level design, etc. I can also code in Java, Python, and C#, and I am learning Unreal and Godot. I also do pixel art, primarily in the style of Undertale/Deltarune, Pokemon Platinum, and retro games. My most important skill, however, is the ability to learn new programs and programming languages quickly and efficiently. Technology comes and goes, but learning to learn means that I’ll be a useful addition to any team no matter what.
